Together with our client, eQ-3 AG, we are pleased to announce that the Homematic IP radiator thermostat Evo has received the Red Dot Product Design Award 2021. The jury was impressed by the "minimalist and ergonomic design as well as the intuitive operating concept", which makes the thermostat ideal for modern smart homes.

Redefining the standard

The Homematic IP radiator thermostat Evo gives all members of a household access to smart temperature control: as well as operation via smartphone app, the desired temperature can be set by turning the thermostat head. This makes intuitive use of the familiar interaction with analog products. Additional system functions such as open window detection, intelligently promote a healthy indoor climate and energy-saving living. The haptics of the rotary knob are optimized as the circular cross-section tapers to a flat surface on which the set temperature and operating modes can be easily read. The thermostat blends harmoniously into the overall look of a modern home and redefines the standard for contemporary thermostats.

Holistic. Smart. UXMA.

The award-winning Homematic IP thermostat puts the spotlight on our team's industrial design & engineering skills. Our contribution in this project illustrates the holistic nature of UXMA's expertise in developing smart products, which does not stop at component design and extends to tool-ready data and drawings. Together with our customer eQ-3, we have developed a future-oriented physical product that meets the highest demands in terms of functionality, ergonomics and visual as well as haptic quality, and which makes a relevant contribution to energy saving with its intelligent functions.
