UI Next Generation – Cab10Future

Drawing of a driver

The CAB10Future prototype from CLAAS is the vision of a driver's cab for the year 2030, equipped with a customized interface for a visionary user experience in the field.

At Agritechnica 2023, visitors were able to experience the future of agricultural technology from CLAAS live and up close in the CAB10Future cab prototype. The collaborative design integrates our advanced interface design study, which impresses with its user-centered design.

Optimized cabin experience

Due to our human-centered design approach, we concentrated on improving the view from the tractor cab to the outside and at the same time optimizing the readability of the displays. By relocating the non-changeable display content from the existing CEBIS system to the front focus area, we were able to reduce the size of the operator terminals as a first step and thus provide a better overview.

Live camera images are added to the front displays in the background, making the A-pillar “disappear” and providing a panoramic view. In addition, the rear-view mirrors have been digitized and integrated into the side displays to ensure a seamless view and intuitive operation. These adaptations offer the driver an optimized overview and an improved driving experience.

Highly functional cabin, clear UI

The new look of the cabin is also reflected in the interface: clearly structured and with fine details, the interface blends in with the structure and concept of the cabin.

The touch displays on the armrests only ever show individual menu items that stand out visually. This allows the user to focus on the current selection and supports structured working.
