The wireless masterpiece

The best of its class is digital. The SKM 9000 is still the current reference solution for the most demanding live applications, such as multi-channel broadcast and stage productions. In these fields of application, the sound engineer is responsible every day for ensuring that the production runs with smooth precision – errors and dropouts must not occur, there is no second take.

The SKM 9000 stands for the perfection that professionals expect from Sennheiser: uncompressed digital sound transmission, free of interference, impressive sound fidelity and dynamics far beyond what analog wireless technology can achieve. Thanks to automatic control and safety functions, setup and use is particularly easy. Intuitive menu control gives users a clear, complete overview immediately, even in stressful situations.

The aim was to design a fully digital hand-held transmitter that meets the highest standards of functionality, design and quality for the global professional wireless segment.

Conceptual design using variable display formats (manual sketches, CAD sketching, screenshots)
CAD installation space studies in connection with alternative arrangement concepts
Implementation of ergonomics studies and model construction
Creation of proportional hand models with the essential geometric features without painting
Definition of connecting design elements that create the formal coherence of the system products
Design of the assemblies with regard to the planned production processes
Creation of the CAD fine geometry based on coordination with production and design
Final visualization of the concepts via CAD renderings to assess surfaces and colour distributions
High-end design model making: creation of high-precision models to assess production readiness – here in particular surface structures
Documentation of the design language in the context of the design style guide
