Whether Duolingo, Coursera or Microsoft Teams: EdTech offerings have long since arrived in everyday education often intuitive and technically sophisticated, but usually with a commercial ulterior motive. Data is becoming the currency, algorithms the educational leader. Although public educational institutions rely on data protection-friendly open source platforms, they are lagging behind in terms of usability and vision. As a result, the concept of education is increasingly being defined by tech companies and deeper learning processes are falling behind.
